The following Bentwood Boxes are examples by artist Trevor Hunt from the Kwakiutl Nation.

A bentwood box is an item unique to the Northwest Coast First Nations Peoples of BC and have been used for thousands of years. They were created for both practical and symbolic purposes, such as storage of heirlooms and prized possessions, transportation of goods, for cooking, or for burial. A contemporary bentwood box is typically used as a displayed work of art, as a vessel to hold heirlooms or other prized possessions, or for burial purposes to hold a loved one's remains.

You can order in a variety of sizes, with any symbol or colour palette you would like. It can be carved, sandblasted, painted or unpainted. You can also request to have mother-of-pearl incorporated into the design. After you have decided on the details we will send you a quote as soon as possible. Each box will have a different price.
